Isis Sugar Mill The Isis Central Sugar Mill Company was registered as a Company on 16th July 1894. The factory was constructed by Walkers Ltd in 1896-1897. In the first year of operation, the Mill crushed the equivalent of 7,918 tonnes of cane to yield 807 tonnes of sugar. At that time, there were 30 cane suppliers who received approximately 96c (10 shillings) per tonne for their cane.
