Botany Bay ACV 30 The Bay class patrol boats are a class of eight patrol boats, built by Austal Ships and used by the Australian Customs Service National Marine Unit. Featuring a deep V, single chine aluminium hull form, the patrolboats have a maximum range of 3000 nautical miles and arecapable of operating for up to 28 consecutive days at sea.Powered by twin MTU 16V 2000 M70 engines, the vessels have a maximum speed of 24 knots and have the ability to maintain speeds of less than 5 knots for extended periods as required for surveillance operations. Propulsion options will enable speeds of up to 50 knots to be achieved.
