Post Office Hotel - Gulgong
Post Office Hotel - Gulgong Post Office Hotel - Gulgong Gold was first discovered in the area around 1852 but it was not until Tom Saunders found 120 pounds of gold at Red Hill in April 1870 that the gold rush really began. Gulgong was named from an aboriginal word meaing deep waterhole. At its peak in 1872 it was referred to at the hub of the world - till the gold died out - by 1880 it was all over.
