The Hotel Orient is the earliest surviving, 19th century (1870), hotel in central Brisbane still offering accommodation and is amongst the longest licensed hotels in Brisbane. A “first class” Hotel in the 1870’s, the Orient demarks the juncture of the Brisbane Central Business District and Fortitude Valley along a major inner city thoroughfare which is Queen Street, the main street in Brisbane.
